Hello classmates. By reading everybodies blogs so far I live a very normal and dull life. My name is Shonna Brown. Many get my name that is why I wrote Show-na. I live in Corbin Kentucky (Whitley County). Home of [KFC]. I could give you directions to my house and you would still get lost. The UPS man gets lost every time they come. I live on a street named after my husbands family and there is only 4 houses around us, so you can pretty much say I live in the country. I am 28 but look younger than that. I know I am young but have been through a lot in my life (which is a story in itself ). I just recently got married on 06-07-08. Yes my husband should remember the date since it is that easy but I am the one who has problem remembering things. We have been together for 7 years, and finally tied the knot. I have a 7 year old baby which is my cat, she is the only baby for now.
Educaition
In 2003 I received a bachealors in Interdiscplinary Early Childhood Education. It is a long word for teaching children from birth to five years of age. I have always loved children and it is what I am good at. I taught for 1 year in central Kentucky then had to move to Corbin and taught another year. I hated the school system down in Whitley County so I decided that I needed a change of direction. I love children but just was not ready to be in the classroom. After a year of different jobs in February 2006, I finally landed a job in the local library as the bookmobile driver. My dream was actually be a school librarian, so when this job fell into my lap I jumped at the chance. After 5 months driving around the county I was promoted to being the children’s librarian. I love the atmosphere of the public library better than the school system and would love to spend the rest of my life in the public library. (Whitley County Public Library) I am taking classes for my job and to gain better knowledge, maybe move on to bigger and better things in the public library. I love to read and feel very strongly about reading to children and reading being a intergal part of growing up. From taking this class I hope to better understand Web 2.0 and hope to draw some of the teens into our library.
