Talk:Academic Libraries and YouTube

I thought the point about YouTube as a familar medium for students so they don't have to learn a new technology was excellent. I think one of the best features that libraries can do is take popular technology, like YouTube, and use it for library advances. I also like the fact that you pointed out the reasons why libraries should use YouTube, not just that they are and how they are. The example of using YouTube videos as tutorials was a great one. Reaching out to people with a visual means caputres their attention much better and makes them interested in learning versus the "old way". Great that you finish with some hints to get started to produce your own YouTube viedo for the library. Overall, I really liked your article and thought it informative and well structured.

This article is a really good introduction to the world of YouTube for academic libraries. It's important for them to make the effort to reach their patrons (mainly collge students) on their level, and by that I mean that it is a social generation, with different rules. You put a lot of great detail and resources into the article, and make the reasoning behind YouTube easy to understand. I also appreciatete examples you used to demonstrate the different types of YouTube videos that could be created and what purpose those can serve in the future. Your media component video discussing the necessary parts required for a libary orientation video was very well thought out and organized. I think the music you chose sets the tone very well! Great job, overall! Christine B 18:59, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

I like how you gave detail about the different kinds of videos libraries create to put on YouTube. I recently viewed a YouTube video for a school library here in Jacksonville, and it made me want to go back to high school! The media component you chose to use was very appropriate. Your video was very informative and the music works very well with it. I like how you discussed the importance of videos for libraries because it is beneficial to those who learn visually or aurally. Overall very good job!Kek07e 21:06, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
